The costs of the procedure are incredibly high. Firstly, a suitable donor must be found. Secondly, the operation must be performed. Typically there are additional costs that is unplanned before and after the procedure.

The bone marrow transplant procedure itself is about R400,000.00.  We have spoken to a few parents that went through the same process, and all of them said that it is critical that we raise funds for Stefan. This medical condition will be with him for the rest of his remaining life and medical aid will not cover everything that you bargain for.
