Life is certainly a rollercoaster ride!!

The last four years had its ups and downs but it also provided us with valuable life lessons. 

Be grateful - We are certainly grateful for what we have in life and in love. The children we have, our family and friends and people that have been supporting us through the years.

To Believe - You have to believe that there is a path provided for you and that your faith will keep you on that path.

To Trust - You have to put your trust in the people that love and support you, but most importantly, you have to trust God. To have full trust that He will provide for you in whatever way He deems fit and accept the outcome.

When we started this journey it was with doubt, disbelief and a lot of questions. I can tell you that our outlook on life has changed dramatically.

We are so grateful for the blessings that we received, we believe and trust that our lives are in God's hands.

A goal was set for this fundraiser, and I am happy to say that we have reached this milestone. By the end of June we will not be raising anymore funds for Stefan and I would like to thank everybody for their financial support in reaching this goal. More importantly, thank you for your love and support. You have shown us that there is love and compassion in this crazy world. We have been blessed with new friendships and have seen that there are a lot of people that needs the support that we have received. Not only financially but having someone to talk to, to share your pain, to have a shoulder to cry on.

It is almost impossible to thank everybody that contributed their time, money and hearts for this cause, you can just have a look at the fundraiser articles to see a glimpse of the people. There are a lot more people that I have not thanked through this process, but know that we are humbled by what you have done for us. 

To all my friends at Izazi and Standard Bank, locally and across the seas. You are a special bunch, our family, our support network.

My wife and I will continue to raise awareness, raise funds and support the organisations that are involved in paediatric oncology. They are listed on this site and I would urge you to do the same.

A lovely group of people got together and a project arose from the idea that the Sunflower bandanas purchased by staff at work in support of the Sunflower Fund would be donated and converted into saleable items.

An appeal was made to everyone that purchased bandanas from previous years to be donated. This project will run for the next couple of months with the goal of collecting R30 000.

The bandanas collected are to be converted into saleable items such as table cloths, quitls, cushion covers, bags etc. The items will be sold or raffled to raise funds for Stefan. With this amasing initiative this team already managed to collect R4000.

This is a fantastic contribution and we really want to thank everybody from the bottom of our hearts for pouring effort, skill and heart into this initiative.

The guys and girls at work went all out again this Friday. This time around the dish of the day was chicken rotis. This was prepared skillfully by Lee-Anne and supported by the rest of her team.

In the picture from left to right is Retse, Monty, Bontle, Lee-Anne, Anand and Kevin. We were missing Leigh from the photo opportunity.

Rhugtaz again led the sales team with Elicia and Pam in support. The Rotis were backed up by some cakes as well, thanks Rhugtaz!

People were very hungry it seems since everything was sold out just after 9am... I even had to give up my roti for a distressed colleague that arrived too late.

Thank you to everybody that assisted in preparing the food, trays, cakes and the people that supported them. A big thank you to everybody that bought rotis and cake. At the end of the day the team raised R3,300 for Stefan. This is a fantastic effort!!

We are blessed to receive such support from all of you, thank you.

 A friend of a dear friend decided to focus his Movember fundraiser on a collection for Stefan.

Sandro went all out, growing his mow in an effort to not only raise awareness for men's health, but to raise funds for Stefan's cause. At the end of the day he managed to raise R6450!!

What a fantastic effort from a great bunch of people. Thank you all for participating and we will soon be planning a trip to Sandro's offices with Stefan to introduce him to the great people there.

This monday started with a mail that I received from a group called FACE- For A Cause. This is a group of individuals that works for a company and I have been provided with a short description of what these amazing people do:

FACE is a small group of HCLites who, apart from dedicating  their best of efforts to the delivery in SBSA, also opted for an holistic drive into the social responsibility wing. The  primitive idea to incorporate this group, initiated in one of the small cultural gatherings in HCL, where we tried to institutionalize the collective interest of many, by pooling funds and other adequate support to help the needy. This initiated the formation of FACE team. We have plans to do this on a regular basis, our flock has already multiplied its count and all possibilities to help the society is currently in our radar, on a humble note to be one of the drops in the ocean of love.

The Face to help the needy with an open mind, with an open heart and with lots of hands (HCL’ites) together.

The FACE team donated R6000 to Stefan's fundraiser!! This is incredible and we do not have words to describe how grateful we are. We can say thank you and would like to offer any assistance to them going forward. This just shows that people can come together and support each other and people in need. 

We all have a social responsibility that does not discriminate beentween race, ethnic goup or sex. The simple fact is that there are people in need for various reasons and society is the only entity that can provide help.

Thank you FACE, you are showing people out there how individuals can come together and make a difference.
