Reach for a dream had another Captain Courage event where all the "brave little angels" were invited to a gorge glide tour. This event was held at the Cullinan Backpackers & Adventure Zone, a beautiful farm in Cullinan.
Stefan had so much fun and received a medal for bravery! After the glide tour they were treated to a very nice lunch. Well done to reach for a dream for arranging the event. Johannni, you and your team are fantastic, so people please support this organisation.
Reach for a dream made a wish come true for Stefan when he became a paleoanthropologist for a day. What a wonderful experience for him as he assisted the team to extract a hominin mandible fossil.
Stefan had the privilege to meet Prof Lee Berger, one of the world's leading paleoanthropologists. He spent most of the day at two excavation sites in the Maropeng area. It was a great adventure.
We also had an opportunity to meet the amazing people at Maropeng Visitor Centre where we were treated to great hospitality. They spoilt the family to bits, it was such a treat. Thank you Tony and team, you really created a special day for Stefan, mom, dad and brothers!
This was such a fun outing for the kids from reach for a dream. If you have a change you must take your family to the Magaliesberg Canopy Tours. Stefan was scared at first and screamed on the first run, but thereafter it was all fun.
What a treat for young and old. If you like a bit of outdoor adventure this will be a great trip for everyone. Trienie also did the tour previously and loved it.
This was Stefan's first canopy tour but we will be back with all the boys and treat them there for the day.
This was Stefan's third Bone Marrow Aspiration. What a terrible procedure!! You would think that in this day and age you would not need to insert a corkscrew into somebody's hipbone and insert a needle the size of my pinky to extract some bone marrow....
I wish and pray that our son does not have to endure this pain anymore.
The results of this aspiration was not good. Our oncologist informed us that we had to start the bone marrow donor search with the goal of having a transplant in the first quarter of 2015.
This is a new chapter, a new fight...
